1930's Oval Dining Table (with the option of extending)
Dimensions: 103cm long x 100cm wide x 75cm high. Leg room 65cm high. Distance between the legs along the long side is 62cm. Extended out (if the additional leaves were remade the table would measure 212.5cm
This is a lovely table. In its compacted form this is a stunning 1930's slightly oval dining table with beautiful legs that are a typical 1930's taper style with the vertical groves. The wood is in very good condition and it is ready to use as it is. The legs fix to the table top with the original wooden screw mechanism. The table is extendable but the original leaves have been lost some time ago and we see the opportunity for the new owner in the opportunity to have the missing leaves remade.. in which case this table would extend into a really useful table to seat friends and family.
The mechanism for extending and reducing the table is very simple.. there are two original metal screws which secure both sides of the table to each other. it works in a a simple and smooth fashion.
I love the table in its reduced form but it would be wonderful as a larger table for occasional use.
