Napoleon III Balloon Back Forest Green Velvet Armchair

I absolutely love this chair and everything about it.  The shape is stunning.. it has this high balloon style back with these low arms.. possibly to accommodate crinoline supported skirts or as perhaps a nursing chair.. the arms are low and an ideal height to rest on with a baby in arms.  The legs are solid wood.. with the beautiful mellow patina of old and worn furniture.  The cotton velvet is in excellent condition.. if it were me, I would keep this exactly as it is.  No changes required.  Look at the pretty detail along the fringing.. how it undulates subtly along the base of the seat.  Wonderful!
