This is a classic table top 'garde a manger' or 'food keep'.  Made from wooden frame and finished with mesh sides and door.  This piece would have stored food away from flies, in a cool room.  Is ideal to reuse for its original purpose, or for general characterful storage.. a friend of mine stores her glasses on the table top in her kitchen in one. it looks fantastic.  One door opens onto one shelf.  This garde a manger is in rustic condition, the original wire has one hole in the side, but it is beautifully characterful and would make a wonderful detail in a kitchen, or even a bathroom.
