Sometimes a piece of stock comes along that I really don't want to part with and these blocks are one of those items.. they look amazing mounted in a collection on a white wall.  Their texture and size offer a subtle contrast to a white wall.  They were used to stamp a coloured pattern onto a piece of fabric.  The artisans must have been amazingly talented to have made the blocks and the operators to achieve a beautiful result on the fabric.  William Morris was using this technique for this fabric patterns in the 1800's.
