'French Country Roadside' Landscape Oil Painting on Board Signed

A fresh and captivating oil on canvas depicting a cross, often seen at cross roads on the outskirts of a French village.  A very beautiful and arresting composition that reflects feelings of summer holidays walking in the French countryside.  The painting is signed, in a familiar hand but I can't make out the specifics.  The colours are bright and joyful, and would probably be more vivid with a clean.  A stunning image, framed in lovely wooden surround.
