I mean.. this is an incredible piece.. carved decorative, gilded.. a small piece of French social and interior history.

As you can see from the photographs of the details and the back, this piece is heavy damaged. Lots of pieces have been glued back on, some supporting struts have been added over time and a restorer would have a field day fixing this back to new... but to us, this piece is perfect. None of the damage detracts from the overall impression this piece offers.. a bold, glittering theatrical and decorative piece that would be as beautiful in a commercial or residential living space as it would in a bedroom.
