Trans Atlantic Liner Marble Topped Chest of Drawers Wash Stand with opening lid

Dimensions:  82cm wide x 49cm deep x 93.5cm high.  Marble measurement 67.5cm wide x 42cm deep  Drawers:  62.25cm wide x 39cm deep x 12cm high

A beautiful example of a wash stand, where the top folds down, created for use on Trans Atlantic Liners, these would have had water jugs and bowls placed ontop for the morning or evening wash, my a steward, and then when not in use the lid is pulled down and the piece is used as a chest of drawers.  The top drawer has compartments for 'smalls'.

Beautifully constructed, used in higher end cabins, please study the photographs carefully to see the areas of wear and tear.  Not in pristine condition as you can see but a beautiful and fully functioning working example of a piece of social history.

A pretty and wonderful piece ready for its next adventure!
