19th Century Circular Amboyna and Ebony Marquetry Table

Dimensions: 69cm wide x 72cm high.
A museum piece. Quite literally. The top consists of an amboyna inlaid chain border. The border has stringing made from boxwood, rosewood and pear wood. The marquetry inlays are lacewood, tulipwood, and Pear. In the center of the Amboyna burr, the central inlay has lacewood, boxwood stringing and the inlays contain rosewood, ash, kingwood, tulipwood, satin wood, pear and other fruitwoods. The base is ebony veneer with parts embossed. The legs are ebony veneer inlayed with boxwood. The metal decoration is brass gilded with Ormolu.
The table dates from 1850-60. A unique and exquisite table.
