Trans Atlantic Liner Marble Chest of Drawers Wash Stand with opening lid

Dimensions:  96cm wide x 51cm deep x 91.5cm high.  Marble measurement 82cm wide x 40.75cm deep  74.5cm high.  3 Drawers:  76cm wide x 41cm deep x 13cm high

An exceptional example of a wash stand, where the top folds down, created for use on Trans Atlantic Liners, these would have had water jugs and bowls placed on top for the morning or evening wash, my a steward, and then when not in use the lid is pulled down and the piece is used as a chest of drawers.

Beautifully constructed,  multi wood finish, original marble and mirror.  Used in higher end cabins, please study the photographs carefully to see the areas of wear and tear.  There are finishing that are missing, some areas that are chipped, but nothing to take away from the exceptional quality.  Not in pristine condition as you can see (please see the photographs) but a beautiful and fully functioning working example of a piece of social history.
